And The Golden Gate Bridge
Plane Views Over California
San Francisco is a great city located in a beautiful setting, although it is often shrouded in fog. That may be part of its charm on the ground, but it doesn't necessarily lead to great views from the air. But I've lucked out with clear or mostly clear skies for a few of my fly-overs.
The San Francisco Bay Area (S12A0093)
This is my establishing shot, capturing San Francisco, San Francisco Bay, the Marin Headlands and the East Bay cities all in one picture.
Golden Gate Bridge (J06A0004)
This was a nice shot of the Golden Gate Bridge I got while flying towards the San Jose airport.
San Francisco (S12A0106)
The densely urbanized city of San Francisco fills the north tip of San Francisco Peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay.
From Twin Peaks to Oakland (S12A0108)
Twin Peaks is lower left, downtown San Francisco is upper center, and Oakland slips into view in the upper right.
Downtown San Francisco (S12A0109)
San Francisco, The Golden Gate and the Marin Headlands (S12A1842)
I was flying north to Seattle when I caught this view of the city with the receding fog still enveloping the Golden Gate Bridge.
