Yard Birds was a western Washington home improvement store chain that was in business from the 1950s to the 1990s. Its mascot was a large black bird with a yellow beak. Most of the Yard Bird mascots disappeared as the stores did.
What was the flagship store in Chehalis has been converted to the Yard Birds Mall. The property features a couple versions of the mascot including the giant yard bird pictured below.

The giant yard bird is approximately 40 feet tall and 60 feet long. It originally was built for use as helicopter hanger for one of the owners of Yard Birds.
