The town of Chelan is located at the south end of Lake Chelan, the largest natural lake in Washington. It is also located in the heart of Washington's orchard country, so there are a number of wineries in the area. These have made Chelan a popular weekend getaway destination, and the town has a number of hotels, shops and restaurants that cater to its visitors.
Lake Chelan (N10A0320)
Lake Chelan is 55 miles long. At more than 1,400 feet deep it is the third deepest lake in the United States. The fjord-like lake extends north into Lake Chelan National Recreation Area, and Stehekin village at the lake's north end is accessible only via boat, float plane or hiking.
Downtown Chelan (N10A0311)
Chelan's small downtown has a number of shops and restaurants.
St. Andrews Episcopal Church (N10A0314)
This log church was built around the turn of the last century and is the oldest building in Chelan.
