Caution - Falling Cows Sign
Hwy 150 west of mile marker 4, south side of road
In November 2007 a 600-pound cow fell off a cliff and smashed onto the roof of a minivan traveling below on Highway 150 just west of Chelan. The van was heavily damaged, but the couple in the vehicle escaped injury.
An unofficial warning sign was installed alongside the highway at the bottom of the cliff to alert drivers to the possible dangers overhead - or more likely to have some fun commemorating the unusual event.

Falling Cows Cliff (Z13A0034)
The cliff face is now covered with chain link in an effort to keep falling rocks - and presumably cows - off of motorists passing below.
