Lincoln Rock State Park

East Wenatchee, Washington

13253 Hwy 2, a few miles north of town

Lincoln Rock State Park is a small camping park along the Columbia River that takes its name from a rock formation across the river. In 1898 one Billy Shoft commented on the resemblance of the rock to a profile of Abraham Lincoln. He took a picture of it and entered it in a Ladies Home Journal photography contest where it won first place. That cemented its name.
