North Head Lighthouse
Cape Disappointment State Park
North Head Lighthouse Rd
The Cape Disappointment Lighthouse, built on a bluff overlooking the mouth of the Columbia River, proved to be insufficient for the waters around Cape Disappointment. So in 1898 a second lighthouse, the 65-foot-tall North Head Lighthouse, was put into service.
Cape Disappointment State Park is one of a number of places in Oregon and Washington that comprise the Lewis and Clark National Historical Park, a unit of the National Park Service.
