Dirty Biter Statue

La Conner, Washington

Dirty Biter Park, S 1st St

According to a plaque at the Dirty Biter statue, Dirty Biter was a funny looking dog, the result of a broken jaw suffered as a puppy, who was La Conner's town dog during his ten-year life (1972-1982). He went home with any local who'd take him in for the night, and had his own bar stool at the 1890s Tavern. Dirty Biter was killed in a dog fight one night. The town erected a statue of him in what is now Dirty Biter Park, next to the tavern.
