Long Lake Dam
Long Lake, Washington
Hwy 291, about a mile east of junction with Hwy 231
Long Lake Dam creates Long Lake on the Spokane River between Spokane and where the river flows into the Columbia River at Lake Roosevelt. When Long Lake Dam was built in 1915 it was the world's highest spillway dam, and its turbines were the largest in the world.
Both an overlook and the Highway 231 bridge provide good views of the dam.
