18 miles south of Asotin on Snake River Rd (County Rd 209)

The petroglyphs located at Buffalo Eddy were created by the ancestors of the Nez Perce Indians. There are petroglyphs on both sides of the Snake River at this point, but only the ones in Washington are open to the public. In addition to the petroglyphs, the site includes some historical information and limited parking.

Buffalo Eddy is one of dozens of places in Idaho, Oregon and Washington that are associated with the Nez Perce National Historical Park.
