Okanogan, located where State Highway 20 heads west from US 97, is the county seat of Okanogan County. Okanogan and nearby Omak provide a base for exploring a number of sights in the north central Washington region, including the North Cascades to the west, Molson ghost town to the north, and the sites along the Columbia River and in the Colville Reservation to the east and south.
Okanogan had a bit of a wild west frontier town reputation in its early days. Today it is a quiet, small town located at the heart of a region worth exploring.
