Poulsbo Marine Science Center
18743 Front St NE
The Poulsbo Marine Science Center is small but it offers a nice introduction to local marine life. It includes a touch tank, some aquariums and a large whale skeleton hanging from the ceiling. It is sometimes home to an octopus from Liberty Bay. Each octopus is kept for only a few months before being returned to the bay.
Complementing the limited space is a theater that shows educational films with a particular focus on the Puget Sound/Salish Sea area.
Giant Octopus Sculpture (O14A0015)
Located at the entrance of the museum, this giant octopus was the work of sculptor Mark Gale, who also created the viking sculpture that welcomes visitors to Poulsbo.
