Seattle Cinerama Theatre
2100 4th Ave
Microsoft co-founder and movie buff Paul Allen purchased a long-faded Cinerama theatre in downtown Seattle in the late 1990s and invested in its restoration, creating a modern theatre and movie-going experience at what is now one of only three theatres in the United States still capable of showing three-panel Cinerama movies.
Most of what it shows today include the latest Hollywood releases, 70mm versions of classics and obscure entries in area film festivals. Recent renovations have updated concessions and introduced roomier seating while maintaining its really big screen venue.
