The Post-Intelligence, a long-time Seattle newspaper, is recognized for among other things the 30-foot neon globe that has graced its headquarters since 1948. The 13 ton globe features the newspaper's slogan, "It's in the P-I".
In 2009, the newspaper ceased print operations, shifting to an internet-only operation with a much smaller staff requiring far fewer facilities. In 2012, the globe was donated to Seattle's Museum of History and Industry, which will refurbish the globe and relocate it.
