Giant Lava Lamp Anticipated
Soap Lake, Washington
In 2002, retired Seattle transplant Brent Blake came up with the idea of building what at 65 feet tall would be the world's largest Lava Lamp as a means to draw tourists to what was once a resort town. Over time the idea morphed into a proposed imitation lava lamp, but the $1 million estimated price tag is a lot of money for the small town.
Mr. Blake died in 2013, his vision unrealized, although his creative thinking helped draw tourists and artists to Soap Lake.

Someday I hope to see the actual Lava Lamp when I visit Soap Lake.
