Father's Day Marker
Father's Day was started in Spokane, Washington by Sonora Smart Dodd in 1910 at the local YMCA. However, it wasn't until 1972 that Father's Day was made a permanent national holiday.
A historical marker in Riverfront Park notes the holiday's Spokane origins.
