Mike Cmos Memorial

Spokane, Washington

4401 N Aubrey L White Parkway

Mike Cmos, Jr., was investigating a malfunctioning digester tank at the Spokane Wastewater Treatment Plant when its roof collapsed and the tank partially imploded, dropping him into the 40-foot-tall tank, killing him. Two other workers were injured. Cmos left behind his wife and daughter.

Local nun and sculptor Sister Paula Turnbull created a memorial sculpture called "Fish On", featuring Cmos fishing with his daughter. The memorial was installed in front of the Riverside Park Water Reclamation Facility.
