Victoria's Chinatown is the oldest Chinatown in Canada. Now a popular tourist destination, Chinatown is home to a number of restaurants, shops, historical buildings and features that include The Gate of Harmonious Interest and Fan Tan Alley.
Victoria's Chinatown is a National Historic Site of Canada.
Gate of Harmonious Interest (V09A0100)
This traditional Chinese gate was built in one of Victoria's sister cities, Suzhou, China.

Chinese Public School (V09A0112)
Lequn Yishu, the Chinese Public School, was built in 1909 to educate Chinese-born students at a time when those who could not speak English were banned from Victoria schools. Although no longer in use as a public school, the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association that built it continues to operate it as a community resource and cultural center.
